Job Summary

People and Talent

Lead and develop an effective team through communication, performance management, development plans and reward/recognition practices.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects SCB core values.
Provide leadership, management and coaching to direct reports to ensure they are highly engaged and performing to their potential including stretch and developmental goals.
Ensure staff in the respective team have clearly articulated and well understood roles and responsibilities through meaningful and accurate job descriptions. Set clear job objectives and description for direct reports and monitor progress against desired objectives, provide timely feedback and reward best performers.
Monitor the performance of all direct reports and the wider team in meeting agreed CADs and quality expectations and proactively identify any key trends that indicate a deterioiration in team performance. Seek solutions to any issues identified that jepordize individual or team targets.
Perform regular reviews of work completed by all direct reports as appropriate including the Supervisory checks/ TL checks to ensure quality and address any performance/ training issues.
Develop an environment where forward planning, prioritization, deadline management and streamlined workflows and collaborative, inclusive yet effective and efficient work practices are the norm.

Governance

Instil good governance and tracking mechanisms within FCC Investigations including new joiner deployment, Supervisory checks, appropriate record keeping and up to date JDs/ objectives and staff oversight
Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
Deliver ‘effective governance’; challenge fellow executives effectively; and work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
Plan and ensure a suitable level of readiness for Audit and Regulatory reviews.
Propose control improvements, enhancements and simplifications where appropriate.
Collaborate with Country FCC teams and FCSO Functions to ensure consistent application of standards and engagement on AML issues

Regulatory & Business Conduct

Comply with all relevant Country regulations / legislation documented in appropriate Country Addendums and DOIs.
Support the promotion of the business, culture and practice of FCC within the letter and spirit of US Laws, including local Laws and Regulations, in accordance with Group standards

Qualifications

ACAMS certification or equivalent strongly preferred.
Bachelor degree from an accredited institution or equivalent.
Advanced degrees (J.D., MBA, etc.) will be viewed positively.
Experience in Correspondent Banking is a plus.
5 -7 years’ experience in conducting money laundering investigations within the financial industry or in the governmental regulatory, intelligence or law enforcement space (international, federal, state and local levels will be considered); or equivalent.
Experience in managing people and processes.
Demonstrated capacity to lead teams in complex investigative or equivalent work, including through the execution of projects, investigations or other initiatives that present the need for close supervision, resource-management, and effective communications.
Prior law enforcement or regulatory experience will be viewed positively.

Expected annual base pay range for the role is $135,720 to $203,580. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
